Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, received the representatives of the Azerbaijani community of the Republic of Dagestan, who are currently on a visit to Baku.
Welcoming the guests, the Chairman of the State Committee has told that this visit coincides with 100th anniversaries of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and the eldest son of the Dagestan people, Rasul Hamzatov.
Stressing that the friendly relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan are deepening day by day, the chairman has emphasized that this factor gives an impetus to the development of Dagestan-Azerbaijan relations.
It was noted with satisfaction that Aziz Aliyev, a great statesman and the eldest son of Azerbaijan, prevented the planned deportation of the people of Dagestan. It was also recalled that the people of Dagestan, along with the local bodies, lent a helping hand to the Azerbaijanis who were stuck on Russia-Azerbaijani border during COVID-19 pandemic.
Expressing their gratitude for the sincere reception, the guests congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the restoration of state sovereignty in the entire territory of Azerbaijan. They mentioned that the services of the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijani martyrs, will go down in history forever. The views on different issues were debated at the meeting.

It should be noted that in February of this year, the action plan for the main directions for the further cooperation was approved at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic and humanitarian relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation. The State Committee on Work with Diaspora is one of the provider of the humanitarian direction from the Azerbaijani side.
According to the plan, it was decided to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev in Dagestan, and the 100th anniversary of prominent socio-political figure of Dagestan, poet and writer Rasul Hamzatov in Azerbaijan. Representatives of the Azerbaijani community of the Republic of Dagestan came to Baku to participate in the anniversary events.
The guests visited Alley of Honors and Martyrs’ Lane and commemorated the dear memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs with deep respect.
