The third day of the 19th International Baku Jazz Festival was marked by the performance of the master of Azerbaijani jazz Rain Sultanov with his project Syndicate. The once sensational project dedicated to the memory of the world jazz star Joe Zawinul sparkled with new facets this time. Some of the best musicians of our time took part in the project, such as trumpeter Carlos Sarduy (Cuba), bass guitarist Linley Mart (France), drummer Yoann Schmidt (France) and rising stars of Azerbaijani jazz pianists Javanshir Abdullali and Nijat Guliyev.

The overcrowded hall froze in delight from the first composition. Rain Sultanov showed a high class of performance, and in conjunction with trumpeter Carlos Sarduy and the whole team, the concert turned out to be a hit. The audience did not leave their seats in anticipation of the continuation and did not want to leave at the end of the concert,. The evening continued with a jam session. Rain Sultanov is an outstanding jazz performer of Azerbaijan, the author of two books on the history of jazz in Azerbaijan, the founder and art director of the Baku Jazz Festival. He worked with such personalities as Rashid Behbudov, in the Gaya orchestra, and has toured with performances almost all over Europe, Asia and America. Rain Sultanov is a musician of the German label Ozalla Music, which has released a number of his CDs and four vinyl albums. Rain Sultanov's concert within the framework of the Baku Jazz Festival 2024 put another exclamation mark in his work and in the history of jazz in Azerbaijan.
