A total of 340 Azerbaijani athletes will compete in 23 sports at the 3rd CIS Games. The overall delegation will consist of 475 members.
The largest representation will be in judo and fencing, with 32 athletes each. Taekwondo and volleyball will have 28 athletes each.
Azerbaijani athletes will also take part in team sports such as football, chovgan, volleyball, and 3x3 basketball. In addition, the country will be represented in rhythmic gymnastics with its group exercise team.
It should be noted that in some sports — judo, taekwondo, fencing, badminton, and karate — Azerbaijan, as the host country, will compete with two squads.
The 3rd CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8 in seven cities of Azerbaijan: Ganja, Gabala, Mingachevir, Goygol, Khankendi, Yevlakh, and Sheki. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Ganja City Stadium.
