Sameddin Asadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, held a meeting with a delegation from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the fields of transport and logistics.

Sameddin Asadov emphasized that Azerbaijan was among the first countries to support the “Belt and Road” initiative and considers the Middle Corridor a key component of it.

The Deputy Minister provided detailed information on investments in the country’s transport infrastructure and major connectivity projects implemented over the past 20 years. He noted that active cooperation with regional countries has significantly enhanced the efficiency of transit routes.

During the meeting, the Chinese delegation was also briefed on the progress of the Zangezur Corridor construction. It was noted that the project will contribute to the diversification of regional transport links and support lasting peace and prosperity in the region.

The parties stressed that there are significant opportunities to expand cooperation in transport and communications, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and pursue new initiatives.
