On February 28, 2026, the gallery Aydani hosted the grand opening of the children’s group exhibition “Abstract Colors”, which brought together 30 young artists aged 5 to 18.

The exhibition became a bright and inspiring event in the cultural life of the city. Children’s abstraction was presented to the audience in all its diversity — sincere, bold, and emotional. Each artwork was truly unique: in every brushstroke and color solution one could feel the inner world of the artist, their personal perception of space, form, and mood.

The abstract style is especially valuable for young artists. It develops creative thinking, imagination, and freedom of self-expression. In childhood, the boundaries of perception are not yet limited by conventions and strict rules, which is why the works appear remarkably pure, vivid, and sincere. This inner freedom became the main leitmotif of the exhibition.

The opening was attended by a large number of guests — art lovers, parents, teachers, as well as well-known Azerbaijani artists. The guest of honor was the renowned artist Tahir Shikhaliev, who delivered a welcoming speech. In his address, he emphasized the importance of abstract art in developing artistic thinking in children and noted that through abstraction a child learns to feel color, rhythm, and composition.

Welcoming remarks were also delivered by the gallery’s director and artist Aydan Mammadova, who highlighted the high level of the presented works and the importance of supporting young talents. The curator of the exhibition, digital artist Sevil Kerimova, spoke about the concept of the project and emphasized that the combination of traditional and digital art opens new horizons for young authors.

A special feature of the exhibition was the presentation of digital artworks by three participants. These works were created from scratch in a digital environment, then professionally printed and exhibited alongside traditional paintings. This practice became innovative for Azerbaijani galleries: within the walls of Aydani Gallery, digital artworks were presented for the first time as part of a children’s collective exhibition of abstract art.

The works of the young artists attracted great interest from visitors and the professional art community. Guests noted the boldness of the color solutions, the originality of the compositions, and the deep emotional impact of the children’s artworks.

The opening concluded with warm conversations among guests during a reception featuring national sweets and beverages, creating a special atmosphere of comfort and celebration.

The exhibition “Abstract Colors” became not only an artistic event but also an important step in supporting the younger generation of artists. It once again proved that children’s creativity has the power to inspire, amaze, and shape the future of contemporary art.
