The Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of Baku State University hosted the Republican Scientific Conference “Modern Problems of Applied Mathematics,” dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Center for Scientific Activity and Innovation Farid Nagiyev highlighted Heydar Aliyev’s contributions to the development of science and education in Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of applied mathematics in modern fields such as artificial intelligence, information technology, engineering, and economic modeling.

Dean of the Faculty, Professor Alekper Aliyev, noted that the rapid development of computer science has expanded the application areas of mathematics and stressed the faculty’s significant role in training scientific personnel and developing the field in Azerbaijan.

The conference also featured speeches by Professor Rovshan Aliyev, Head of the Department of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, and Associate Professor Aydin Aliyev, Head of the Department of Information Technology and Programming.

During the plenary session, master’s students Aygul Khankishiyeva, Gunel Dadashova, and Ismail Zeynalov presented their research papers. The conference later continued its work in sectional sessions.
