The literary evening and awards ceremony for the winners of the Shahin Novrasli Festival 2026 literary competition took place at the Magsud Ibragimbeyov Creativity Center.
The goal of the festival's traditional literary competition is to create a vibrant musical image in a literary work and popularize the theme of music in literature. This year's theme was "Anniversary with Music." The participants' works were judged by a panel of judges: Anna Ibragimbeyova, the director of the Magsud Ibragimbeyov Creativity Center; Alexander Khakimov, member of the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan; Natig Aliyev, the director of the NG Creators Club; and Rustam Huseynov,the media coordinator of the Shahin Novrasli Festival. During the event, the contestants and jury members shared their opinions and discussed the creative process, highlighted the most interesting episodes in the contestants' stories, and discussed in detail the most original plot twists. Jury member Natig Aliyev read out the most memorable lines from the works. Participants included both emerging writers and renowned writers and poets. Lala Gasanova, Ziba Rasul, Lala Aliyeva-Klychkova, Masuma Gasimova, Samira Shikhiyeva, Bayram Maharramov, Zulfiya Babayeva, and Tarana Azimova presented their works at the event.
The initiator of the competition, Rustam Huseynov, spoke in detail about this year's most interesting participants, noting the significantly improved level of the competition. The competition exemplifies how good music has inspired many writers and poets. But the most important thing that unites both musicians and writers is the desire to create. This year's winners are mostly young people.
Shahin Novrasli Festival 2026 takes place in Icheri Sheher from July 2 to 12. Over the course of ten days, residents and visitors of Baku will enjoy a special program of music from various genres performed by renowned musicians from ten countries. Shahin Novrasli Festival 2026 will also feature a festival fair, daily DJ sets, a concert featuring young talent, a literary competition, and jam sessions.
