British Ambassador: Cooperation with Azerbaijan Has Gone Far Beyond the Energy Sector

Cooperation between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan is no longer limited to the energy sector.

"innews media" reports that British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman made the remarks at a press conference in Baku.

The ambassador noted that the two countries have a history of more than 30 years of cooperation. According to him, cooperation in the energy sector formed the foundation of the relationship for many years, while BP’s investments played an important role in Azerbaijan’s economic development.

D. Norman said that bilateral relations now cover a much broader range of areas:

“But our partnership has gone far beyond energy. Today, the partnership encompasses defence, security, trade, education, innovation and people-to-people ties that have become deeply rooted on both sides. Azerbaijan is a valued partner; we have close ties connecting our two countries and a shared understanding of the key challenges and opportunities of our time.”
