A series of training sessions on “Effective Use of Research Resources and Enhancing the International Impact of Scientific Publications” has been launched at Baku State University (BSU) for university faculty and staff. The sessions are organized by the Quality Assurance Center.
The trainings are conducted by Asiman Ilyasov, BSU Rector’s Advisor on Quality Assurance. The main objective is to enhance participants’ ability to make effective use of research resources and academic databases, strengthen the international visibility and recognition of research findings, and introduce approaches to improving the quality and impact of scientific publications.
The sessions cover the effective use of research resources and academic sources in the research and publication process, methods for searching for and selecting relevant academic literature, and approaches to communicating research articles and findings to a broader academic audience.
The trainings also focus on strategies for increasing the citation impact of scientific publications, integrating research findings into the international academic community, and strengthening the scholarly reputation and recognition of researchers. Participants are provided with information on journal-level research metrics, indexing in international academic databases, the dissemination and impact of scientific publications, and the relationship between research performance assessment, citation indicators and international university rankings.
The sessions further address approaches to establishing the relevance of a research topic when preparing and submitting scientific articles for publication, reviewing international literature, clearly presenting the novelty and practical significance of research, selecting an appropriate academic journal, and communicating research findings to the scholarly community following publication.
