The delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Mr Jamshid Khojayev visited the Port of Baku.
The delegation was also consisted of the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ilham Makhkamov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan, Mr. Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, officials of the state institutions and leaders of private companies from Uzbekistan.
Dr. Taleh Ziyadov, Director General of Port of Baku and Mr. Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan welcomed the guests at the Port of Baku.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further expansion of cooperation between dry ports operating in Uzbekistan and the Port of Baku, participation of Uzbek businesses in infrastructure projects of the Port, as well as prospects of increasing cargo transportation between Asia and Europe through the Port of Baku.
It should be noted that cargo throughput between Uzbekistan and Port of Baku continues to increase. Thus, during the 11 months of the current year, the volume of cargo transportation exceeded 853 thousand tons, which is 83 percent more than the corresponding period of 2021. The main cargo turnover contains, wheeled vehicles, containers, dry cargo, oil, and oil products.
