Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora met with the Canadian delegation which is currently visiting Azerbaijan.
Chandra Arya, MP, Member of the House of Commons of Canada, Ron East, publishing director of the prestigious Canadian Jewish media platform "Thej.ca", and Nigar Aliyeva, co-founder of the Azerbaijani weekend school "Karabakh" operating in Ottawa, participated in the meeting.
Stressing his pleasure to welcome guests to Azerbaijan, the chairman of the Committee spoke in detail about the diaspora policy of Azerbaijani state as well as the directions of ongoing activities. He highly appreciated the close integration of Azerbaijanis living in Canada into socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of this country. He noted that parliamentarians such as Chandra Arya played a significant role in establishing cooperative relations between the parliamentarians of Ontario and Canada and the Azerbaijani community. He also thanked Chandra Arya for visiting Azerbaijan House in Toronto.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the guests positively assessed the activities of the Committee.
At the end, a commemorative photo was taken.
At the same time, the guests got familiarized with the activities of the Diaspor TV and Diaspor FM channels.
It should be noted that the visit was carried out within a project implemented by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora which is aiming to inform the international community of facts about Azerbaijan.
It should be recalled that raising ceremonies of the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan took place in 2022 at the City Hall of Hamilton, Ontario on the occasion of 28 May Independence Day, in front of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on the occasion of 9 November Public Flag Day, and in 2023 in front of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on the occasion of 28 May Independence Day. Furthermore, “Azerbaijani Heritage Day” was held in the Canadian Parliament in June this year.
