Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora met well-known scientists and specialists who represented Azerbaijan at the 74th International Astronautical Congress held in Baku.
Gratitude was expressed to the scientists who successfully represent Azerbaijan in foreign countries. The importance of the Congress was debated at the meeting.
It was brought to the attention of the guests that in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's recommendations, the relations with the Azerbaijani communities abroad have been intensified. In the past period, State Committee has organized several specialized forums and meetings including the forums of Azerbaijani scientists living abroad. The guests were given detailed information about "Brain Gain" program implemented by the Committee. The chairman also underlined the significant role of this program in the development of the new generation.
The guests expressed their gratitude for the organization of the International Astronautical Congress and ensuring their participation in this prestigious event. They told that they would spare no effort for the development of science. Our compatriots expressed their love and gratitude for the motherland with the following words, "Even though we live abroad, we are here for Azerbaijan and our all successes are related to our motherland."
It should be noted that the diaspora representatives who participated in the meeting are people who have achieved real success and gained unique experience in their own fields. Nazim Muradov, Professor of the University of Central Florida, head of the group on hydrogen energy was among the guests. He, as a member of research team of NASA, participated in the development of a unique hydrogen sensor, which was successfully tested during the NASA's Space Shuttle Endeavour mission. Prof. Nazim Muradov was awarded R&D100 Award together with his team.
Abdulla Sofiyev, a professor of Istanbul Trade University, a well-known scientist in the field of mechanics and aerospace engineering, is one of the first Azerbaijani scientists to be included in the list of the world's 100 most influential scientists in 2019-2020 and has an H-index of 42 in SCOPUS.
Chingiz Hajiyev, Professor of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Cosmonautics of Istanbul Technical University was elected a full member of the International Academy of Navigation and Traffic Management and was included among the "world's most influential scientists" compiled by Stanford University.
Esmira Bayramova, head of Florida Azerbaijani community, is the manager of the famous "Capella Space" company.
At the meeting, the well-known scientist Nazim Muradov was presented with the "Tereggi" medal awarded by the decree of the head of state.
It should be noted that the expansion of relations with Azerbaijani scientists living abroad is the logical consequence of the establishment of a rich information base about them, implementation of special projects by the State Committee, and the organization of joint scientific conferences and forums of Azerbaijani and foreign scientists.
