Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has had a meeting in the course of her working visit to the town of Awaza of Turkmenistan with Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva on 4 August.
The Speakers voiced the shared contentment with the dynamic advancement of the relations between our friendly and fraternal countries and highlighted the exceptional role of the Heads of State in the deepening of the connexions. Having said that the mutual relations have reached a new and more dynamic development stage thanks to the firm will of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, they also brought up our countries’ successful co-operation in many areas.
The conversation addressed the dynamic growth tempo of the co-operation between our parliaments, akin in spirit to the high-level relationship of the state states. It was noted that the close contacts, regular meetings on the fringes of various international events and reciprocal trips bore a considerable and favourable influence on the collaboration of our legislative bodies. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova recalled with satisfaction her numerous visits to Uzbekistan, including one to take part in the First Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Forum in July this year. The significance of the Practical Action Plan to Develop the Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation in 2025-2026 and of the Regulations of the Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation Commission of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, signed on the sidelines of the Forum, was underlined once more.
