Following the official announcement by SportAccord, which is governed by the umbrella organizations representing more than 120 International Federations, Azerbaijan is proud to confirm that delegate registration is now open for the SportAccord Convention 2026, taking place in Baku from 24 to 28 May 2026.
The Convention is the most important annual gathering for the international sports community, bringing together International Federations (IFs), major event hosts, cities and regions, partners, rights holders, and key stakeholders for a week of high-level meetings, a dynamic exhibition, and essential conference sessions.
Hosting the SportAccord Convention is a profound honor that reaffirms Baku's position as a premier international sports destination. Azerbaijan possesses rich experience in hosting prestigious international competitions. The First European Games, the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, 2019 UEFA Europa League Final, UFC Fight Night, Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, as well as numerous World and European Championships across a wide array of sports, have all been successfully staged in our country.
The Convention will be convening the leadership of the IFs, representatives from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and senior industry leaders right here in Baku. This offers local and regional delegates an unparalleled platform to connect with, exchange knowledge with, and advance strategic partnerships alongside the world's most influential sports organizations. Delegates will also have the opportunity to experience the capital's distinctive mix of contemporary architecture, rich cultural heritage, and renowned Azerbaijani hospitality.
Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, expressed his view regarding the hosting of the next prestigious event in our country:
