On 3 March 2026, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Traycho Traykov, Caretaker Minister of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria.
During the meeting, it was noted that the long-standing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria continues to develop successfully in the energy sector. In this context, it was emphasized that the opening of SOCAR’s office in Bulgaria has made a significant contribution to deepening cooperation in the energy sector.
The parties highlighted the strategic role of the Southern Gas Corridor, including the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and the Greece–Bulgaria Interconnector (IGB), in ensuring reliable and uninterrupted natural gas supplies to Bulgaria.
The meeting also covered opportunities to expand cooperation between SOCAR and Bulgarian energy companies, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
