Today, the Finnish delegation led by Ms. Nina Vaskunlahti, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland visited the office of the Port of Baku and had a meeting with the leadership of the port. Ms. Nina Vaskunlahti was accompanied by Ms. Kirsti Narinen, the Ambassador of Finland to South Caucasus, and other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, as well as leading Finnish companies - Teknos, Gemza Group and Wärtsilä Corporation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the Port of Baku's and Azerbaijan's strategic position in the region as a connector between Europe and Asia, as well as potential projects in digitalization and automation of port operations along the Middle Corridor.
It should be noted that on 27 May 2022 the first block train from China's Tuanjiecun railway station to Finland arrived in the Port of Baku.
