A delegation led by Hungarian Ambassador Tamás József Thorma and Hassan Sharaf, Rector of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, visited Baku State University (BSU).
Welcoming the guests, BSU Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that Azerbaijan and Hungary are successfully developing friendly relations in education, science, and culture. He noted BSU’s interest in expanding cooperation with Hungarian higher education institutions through memorandums of understanding and the development of dual degree programs. He also highlighted the strong potential for joint research and collaboration with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics in areas such as economics, engineering, mathematics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
Rector Hassan Sharaf emphasized the importance of establishing academic cooperation with BSU, noting that this would create broad opportunities for both universities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, conferences, and the implementation of dual degree programs across various fields.
The visit concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two universities.
