An artistic evening titled “Dede Alesker’s Creation: 205 Years” was held at Baku State University (BSU) through the joint initiative of the BSU Volunteers organization and the Dede Alesker Hearth Public Association.
BSU Rector Elchin Babayev noted that events dedicated to outstanding literary figures play an important role in enriching students’ spiritual world and shaping their artistic taste, emphasizing that Ashugh Alesker’s works are a valuable part of Azerbaijan’s literary heritage.
Dean of the Faculty of Information and Document Management, Alamdar Bayramov, highlighted the special place of ashugh art in the nation’s cultural values and its consistent support at the state level, recalling historical initiatives to preserve Ashugh Alesker’s legacy and recent presidential decrees dedicated to his anniversary and memorialization.
Khatai Aleskerli, Chairman of the “Dede Alesker Hearth” Public Association, stated that Ashugh Alesker’s literary legacy stands alongside the works of great masters of Azerbaijani literature.
Professor Ibadullah Agayev and poet-publicist Ramiz Gusharchayli shared insights into the poet’s life and works, reading selected excerpts for students.
The event concluded with a cultural performance.
