SOCAR President Meets with Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz

On 1 June 2026, within the framework of Baku Energy Week, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with Abdugani Sanginov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz.

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of cooperation in the energy sector between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in line with the policies pursued by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In this context, the steps taken towards expanding cooperation between SOCAR and Uzbekneftegaz were highlighted.

The parties emphasized the importance of Baku Energy Week as a key regional platform for discussions on energy-related issues. They also highlighted the significance of the meetings held within the framework of the 28th International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference of Uzbekistan (OGU-2026) earlier this year, as well as bp’s accession to the Production Sharing Agreement for the exploration, development and production of the Ustyurt investment blocks. The parties reviewed the activities to be carried out under the project, future prospects for cooperation, and exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
