A meeting was held at "AzerGold" CJSC with Adam Roble, the Director General of the Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank, who is visiting our country as part of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group.
During the meeting, Khayyam Farzaliyev, Member of the Executive Board and Deputy Chairman of "AzerGold" CJSC, spoke about the main directions of the company's activities, its achievements, and its work in the field of sustainable development. He emphasized that the geological exploration, extraction, and processing operations carried out by the Company are conducted in accordance with advanced international practices, and he also provided detailed information about current projects and future development prospects.
Adam Roble discussed the activities of the financial institution he represents and the mineral resource potential of Somalia. He noted that the bank is currently participating in the implementation of a national program aimed at studying, mapping, and restoring historical geological data regarding Somalia's rich underground resources, such as gold, uranium, lithium, and titanium.
The Director General highlighted their intention to benefit from the advanced experience of "AzerGold" CJSC in attracting international investors, as well as in the fields of geological exploration and extraction.
In the end, an exchange of views took place on matters of mutual interest, and an agreement was reached to continue the exchange of information at the level of structural departments responsible for foreign project development, with the aim of identifying specific future partnership opportunities.
