The opening ceremony of the art exhibition “Azerbaijani National Cuisine” by young artists of the KamART Art Gallery will take place at the Shah Palace Hotel on May 20.
The exhibition exposition reflects the diversity of Azerbaijani cuisine: meat dishes and pastries, dolma, kebabs, dairy and flour products, snacks, pickles and sweets, syrups and preserves - interesting and colorful compositions reflecting the cuisine of different regions of Azerbaijan. Along with food, the paintings show the environment in which people live - the interior of the house, the household items found there, the dishes, carpets and tablecloths they use.
The illustrations especially reflect the tandoor, oven, saj and barbecue used in cooking, which had a great influence on the creation and development of Azerbaijani cuisine. Along with this, historical monuments belonging to different regions were also included in the paintings.
The author of the idea and curator of the project is the director of the Gallery, Kamal Jafarzadeh. Such professionals as Honored cultural worker of Azerbaijan Tahir Amiraslanov, a famous expert in the field of cooking, Honored artist of Azerbaijan Rashad Jabarov and famous artist, laureate of international projects Samir Gafarov, took part in the project and advised the authors works.
The same exhibition, entitled “Azerbaijani Cuisine,” was presented on March 16-17 this year in Tokyo with the support of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Japan and aroused great interest among the Japanese.
The exposition of the Baku exhibition consists of 55 works on canvas from 26 authors. The exhibition will also feature a catalog of works from the exhibition.
The purpose of the exhibition is to draw attention to the cultural heritage and culinary traditions of Azerbaijan and support talented young artists.
The exhibition will last until May 21.
