The latest guest of the “Azerbaijani Language – Open Lessons” project at Baku State University (BSU) was Khatira Huseynova, Head of the Department of New Media and Communication Theory.

During the session, Khatira Huseynova discussed key aspects of language culture, emphasizing the importance of accurate, fluent, and norm-compliant Azerbaijani speech in both everyday communication and public speaking. She noted that language is not only a means of communication but also a key indicator of national identity and cultural heritage.

Highlighting the nuances of language use, she stressed the importance of proper word choice and clear, logical expression of ideas. She also explained that gestures and body language enhance the impact of speech, making it more effective and persuasive. In addition, the role of correct pronunciation, voice control, and breathing techniques in improving speech quality was emphasized.

Through practical examples, participants were introduced to simple techniques for developing effective speaking skills. The session concluded with a Q&A segment addressing students’ questions.
