Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) has achieved a remarkable milestone in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, securing a position in the 401–600 band among the world’s leading higher education institutions.
Having participated in this prestigious ranking for the first time last year, when it was placed in the 801–1000 band, BHOS has significantly improved its position this year, reaffirming its achievements in sustainable development at the international level.
In the 2026 rankings, BHOS earned an overall score of 70.7 points and was assessed alongside 1,603 higher education institutions worldwide.
The university achieved particularly strong results in the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities – 80th globally
- SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production – 101–200 band
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth – 101–200 band
- SDG 4 – Quality Education – 101–200 band
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals – 61.6 points
THE Impact Rankings is one of the world’s most respected international ranking systems, assessing universities’ contributions to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through their education, research, governance, and community engagement activities.
This achievement reflects the international recognition of BHOS’s efforts and accomplishments in advancing sustainable development, promoting inclusive and high-quality education, strengthening international partnerships, and generating positive social impact.
