The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) and Azer-Turk Bank OJSC have signed a cooperation agreement on the provision of preferential loans from the Energy Efficiency Fund through an authorized credit institution.
The agreement was signed by Samir Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of AERA, and Gunel Nabiyeva, Chairwoman of the Board of Azer-Turk Bank OJSC.
The primary objective of the agreement is to promote the implementation of energy efficiency measures through cooperation with the bank and to provide preferential loans from the Fund for these initiatives.
Highlighting the activities of the Energy Efficiency Fund, Samir Akhundov stated that preferential loans are intended to be issued through authorized credit institutions to finance projects aimed at encouraging energy efficiency measures. Noting that cooperation agreements have already been signed with 11 leading banks of the country for this purpose, Samir Akhundov expressed his confidence that the partnership with Azer-Turk Bank within this framework would be successful.
In turn, Gunel Nabiyeva provided information about Azer-Turk Bank OJSC, noting the bank’s interest in financing projects related to the development of the non-oil sector. She reiterated the bank’s support for providing preferential loans from the Fund for energy efficiency projects and expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation in this field.
The Energy Efficiency Fund was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dated March 1, 2024. Its funds are managed by the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA). AERA was established as a public legal entity under the Ministry of Energy by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated December 22, 2017.
