Azerbaijani kickboxer Baba Abbaszade has been suspended for two years for violations of anti-doping rules.
The sanction against the athlete began on July 6, 2026, and will expire on July 6, 2028.
According to the provided information, the athlete's sample was found to contain a prohibited substance, its metabolites or markers. This constitutes a violation under Article 2.1 of the anti-doping rules. The case also involves the use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or prohibited method, which falls under Article 2.2.
The prohibited substance identified in the case was Furosemide, which belongs to the S5 – Diuretics and Masking Agents category.
As a result, Baba Abbaszade is ineligible to compete for a period of two years, from July 6, 2026, through July 6, 2028.
