Azerbaijani weightlifter Fazila İmanova has been suspended for three years for violations of anti-doping rules.
The sanction against the athlete began on May 15, 2026, and will end on May 14, 2029.
According to the provided information, the athlete’s sample was found to contain a prohibited substance, its metabolites or markers. This constitutes a violation under Article 2.1 of the anti-doping rules.
The case also includes the use or attempted use of a prohibited substance or prohibited method, which constitutes a violation under Article 2.2.
The prohibited substance identified in the athlete’s sample was metribolone, which belongs to the S1.1 – Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) category.
As a result, Fazila İmanova has been suspended from competition for the period from May 15, 2026, to May 14, 2029.
