At the initiative of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), a meeting was held with representatives from over 100 technopark resident companies. During the session, the current state of technopark operations was reviewed, future development plans were outlined, export opportunities for ICT products were discussed, and a networking session was conducted to foster collaboration among residents.

Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Board of IDDA, opened the event with an introductory speech, outlining the Agency’s key focus areas, the role of technoparks in this strategy, and the partnership model established with residents:

“As IDDA, our goal is to further expand the network of technopark residents, provide tangible support for their business development of residents, and especially to promote the export potential of local ICT products. We are already seeing the results of this approach reflected in concrete statistics. While the number of technopark residents was 70 in 2023, it increased to 118 in 2024, and by 2025, 163 companies are expected to be residents of our technopark.”

Elvin Hajiyev, Head of the Technoparks Department at the IDDA, delivered a presentation on the current state of technopark operations, the results achieved, and plans for the upcoming period. The presentation highlighted key priorities, including enhancing collaboration with residents, fostering a community-oriented approach, and transforming technoparks into business platforms that generate tangible value for the national economy.

Javid Suleymanli, Head of the Economic Analysis Department at the Agency and PhD in Economics, delivered an analytical presentation on the role of the ICT industry in the economy, global trends, existing export opportunities for Azerbaijan, and market research across various countries. He emphasized that increasing ICT export dynamics is of key importance for the development of the country’s non-oil sector.

Within the framework of the event, a panel session on “ICT Industry and Export Experience in Azerbaijan” was also held. The event concluded with a networking session attended by technopark residents.

It should be noted that the incentives provided under technopark residency—such as exemptions on profit tax, dividends, property, and land taxes, as well as the simplification of income tax and social security mechanisms—strengthen the financial resilience of business entities and create favorable conditions for their accelerated development. Overall, these incentives make a significant contribution to the formation and growth of an innovation-driven and competitive business environment in the country.
